We live in a world where justice is more often skewed in favor of the rich and powerful simply because they have financial, social, or political clout hence the need for both timely advocacy and legal aid for the marginalized and exploited sections within the society. The Dalit, and more so the rural Dalit, have for eons received unfair and often cruel treatment because the Hindu caste system (socioreligious stratification) says they are not born of the body of God therefore, they are out-caste and religiously impure and untouchable.

By taking small regular actions, we don’t just change the injustice around us but we change ourselves, becoming more the kinds of people who can make a difference. We believe that group advocacy for social change is the way to do it. This includes grassroots community organizing/mobilizing and community legal education.

We provide free legal consultation and aid on a case by case basis on issues of human rights violation and exploitation-specifically for the rural Dalit and generally from the socioeconomically marginalized. We believe that the experience of justice has a way of heralding transformation in a community.
